Acting upon orders of the Regional Trial Court of Makati, the Administration has transferred the kidnapping suspect and alleged pork barrel scam operator Janet Lim-Napoles to the Makati City Jail as a separate prisoner from the general prison population.

Department of Interior Local Government (DILG) secretary Mar Roxas said the occupants of the jail are 103 women detainees and 400 plus male detainees. Roxas added that Napoles will be kept separate from the other detainees in order not to disrupt normal jail operations. Earlier Thursday night, Roxas described the room in which Napoles will be detained in as an air-conditioned office, furnished with a desk and couch, Gma news online reported.

Roxas said Napoles will not be given access to a telephone, except in the presence of her lawyer.

Napoles was transferred to the City jail shortly after 11 p.m. in a heavily-armed security convoy with emergency medical equipment, Gma news online said.

Reports said Napoles arrived at the jail at about 11:21 p.m., wearing a bullet-proof vest, handcuffed and surrounded by battle-dressed police officers. She was immediately rushed through the jail’s gates upon alighting from the PNP bus that took her to Makati.

Waiting for Napoles’ arrival at the Makati City Jail were Roxas, Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda, and Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte, Gma news online said.
