Since its 1989 release, every standard NES Tetris player has played the game knowing well that they will not beat it, with every game being a fight for survival just for a block not to hit the top of the screen and a mundane “game over” message to show up. That is the common case until BlueScuti stepped in, delivering a jaw-dropping 40-minute performance with a mind-blowing 1,511 lines, crashing the game as it reached its functional limits.

BlueScuti’s record-setting feat goes beyond just breaking a decades-long drought as the run defied the assumptions of the Tetris community at large, which, until recently, deemed it functionally impossible for a human to surpass the 290-line mark.

This achievement not only marks a milestone in gaming but also showcases the competitive community that still surrounds this classic game.
