Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), the country’s top motorcycle manufacturer, made headlines at the 2023 Makina Moto Show in Pasay City from April 14 to 16 with the introduction of its new president, Ms. Sayaka Arai.

HPI’s Vice President for MC Sales Jomel Jerezo said the event is considered the largest gathering of Filipino motorcycle enthusiasts, and HPI treats it as a significant occasion. The Makina Moto Show provided HPI with an opportunity to showcase its existing and upcoming models, with three new big bike models making their debut.

HPI’s motorcycles are developed through Motorsports, beginning with “The Isle of Man TT” and now “MotoGP,” to improve and innovate its products, offering racing enthusiasts the excitement and thrill of racing worldwide. For instance, the performance of the CBR1000RR-R FireBlade SP in last year’s Asia Road Racing Championship and winning in the ASB1000, through Honda Asia Dream Racing with Showa, proves this. HPI is now starting to strengthen its Motorsports partnerships not only in international but also in domestic racing.

At the Makina Moto Show, HPI showcased a large collection of motorcycles, including three new big bike models. Among the highlights were the Super Sports Series with four motorcycles: the CBR300R, CBR500R, CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, and the Adventure Series’ All-New XL750 Transalp. The CRF1100 Africa Twin and the All New CRF450R represented the Off-Road Series.

The CBR300R is dubbed the “lightweight champion” and also a race bike machine that offers the best sport bike experience in a size that is more enjoyable to ride. The CBR500R is a middleweight sports bike style motorcycle that can quickly switch from street to sport, while the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is a race bike machine embodying the essence of Honda’s MotoGP racing lineage. The CRF1100 Africa Twin, a dual-sport endurance bike, elevates the thrill in every off-road expedition. Meanwhile, the All New CRF450R, which is being used by the legendary rider and coach for Off-Road Racing Jovie Saulog of JMS- MOS (Man of Steel) – Honda Ride Red Racing Team, is a direct descendant of the legendary CR250M Elsinore and has a modern build and a 450cc liquid-cooled Unicam single-cylinder engine.

Finally, HPI Adventure enthusiasts welcomed the All-New XL750 Transalp, a new model designed with simple, sleek, and tough features in mind. The XL750 Transalp has a class-leading steel diamond body frame and a signature functional windscreen, powered by a 755cc displacement, Liquid-Cooled, 4-Stroke, OHC, 8-Valve Parallel-Twin engine.

Jerezo emphasized that the new model launches and surprises prepared for this year’s Makina Moto Show serve as HPI’s expressions of gratitude for the unwavering support of Honda enthusiasts, promising to reciprocate the love by developing more cutting-edge Honda motorcycles that resonate with their needs and the times.
