Rama Orders to Halt Parking Fee Collection in Maritima

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama urged to stop the collection of parking fees in the vicinity of the old Compania Maritima Building.

Rama has asked the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) to stop the Cebu Ports Authority (CPA) from asking for parking fees from motorists who wish to park in the vicinity.

“I want them out. Let the police come in. They cannot take control of the road. It’s not their road,” Rama said.

It can be remembered that the Cebu Ports Authority (CPA) was granted a writ of preliminary injunction last December 2022 from the Regional Trial Court. This means that the Cebu City government and Megawide Construction Corp. will only be able to occupy a portion of the old Compania Maritima area.

Cebu City government has partnered with the Megawide Construction Corp. to develop the new Carbon Public Market. (ASC)
