Crypto Hub on the Rise as Binance Hosts Meetup with Cebuano Traders

Binance, the world’s leading blockchain and cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, has set its sights on the Philippines with a mission to support the growth of the crypto ecosystem in the country. The company recently held a meetup with Cebuano traders on January 18th and has reported seeing a lot of activity in the city of Cebu, which is starting to establish itself as a hub for strong founders in the crypto space.

Kenneth Stern, General Manager of Binance Philippines, stated that the company plans to support Cebu’s efforts to become a leading tech hub in the Philippines by supporting its government’s stable coin initiatives and providing access to financial services for both the government and local communities. In addition, Binance is also looking to support charities and NGOs whose focus aligns with the company’s mission.

To further this mission, Binance has participated in a Senate hearing with the Committee on Banks, Financial Institutions & Currencies to discuss key initiatives in creating policies and guidelines for fintech and digital assets. The company has also partnered with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordination Center (CICC) and the Philippine National Police to provide law enforcement training in detecting and prosecuting cybercrime criminals.

In addition to these efforts, Binance Academy has signed an agreement with Enederun Academy to increase Web3 education in the Philippines. To further increase crypto adoption in the region, Kenneth Stern also spoke to over 400 students at the Lyceum as part of Binance’s collective effort.

Binance is poised to make a significant impact in the Philippines with its comprehensive range of crypto-related services bringing the next wave of Filipino cryptocurrency traders and web3 enablers up to speed on the latest trends in financial technology.
