Caltex and Landers Superstore Donate Relief Goods to Typhoon Odette Affected Areas in Cebu
Caltex, marketed by Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI) and Landers Superstore in Cebu donated goods to barangays in Cebu that are still reeling from the devastation of Super Typhoon Odette.
Cebu is one of the five provinces in Visayas where Odette left massive damages to crops, infrastructure, livelihood, houses, and human lives. Residents endured months of limited electricity, food, and water made more difficult by the pandemic.
Caltex announced Biyaheng Pagtulong promo earlier this year to support and help areas that were badly hit by Odette. Caltex in partnership with Landers Superstore prepared a total of 1,009 relief packs for the affected families. The Philippine Army helped distribute the donations to residents of barangays Apas, Inayawan, Kibasang-an, Catarman, and Hilontungan Island.
“Caltex will always be willing to extend help in times of disaster and support recovery of those who are badly affected. Helping people overcome challenges in their journey is part of our corporate values in Caltex. We would also like to acknowledge Landers and the Philippine Army for helping us turnover these items to affected Cebuano families. We will continue to support communities most especially those who are in need in any way we can.” said CPI Country Chairman Billy Liu.
Cebu is a vital market for Caltex where it maintains a terminal in Lapu-Lapu City. Caltex regularly conducts initiatives to help communities in Cebu with projects such as school renovations, marine conservation and Pantawid Pasada Program.
