More Areas Including Cebu Now Under Alert Level 1

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has added more areas to be placed under Alert Level 1 in the country to help the economy recover.

Cebu City is now under Alert Level 1 starting March 16 to March 31 was among other areas in the Philippines under the most relaxed alert level system.

However, Cebu Province to remain under Alert Level 2 in this period.

The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Information Officer Lt. Col. Maria Theresa Macatangay said the city’s police force to remain vigilant under Alert Level 1.

Macatangay said they will continue to impose the minimum health protocols throughout the city.

Although the city is placed under the most relaxed alert level, Department of Health 7 (DOH 7) Chief Pathologist Dr. Mary Jean Loreche said that COVID-19 is still among us. She said that even with a more relaxed, this is the time to be even more vigilant about COVID-19.

As of March 17, 2021, Cebu City currently logged two new cases of COVID-19 — increasing the total active cases to 696. Meanwhile, Cebu City did not log any recovery and death this day. (ASC)
