The new guidelines from the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) for the foreign tourists to enter the country will boost the tourism industry in Cebu, says Cebu Provincial Governor Gwendolyn Garcia.

Last Monday, Garcia met with the different consuls from Japan, South Korea, and China talked about the coming tourism reboot in Cebu. Also in the said meeting were representatives from airline companies, hotels, and restaurants in Cebu.

Garcia said that the province will align its policies with the IATF Resolution 160-B that was issued on February 3 and will take effect on February 10.

The governor stressed that this development will help tourism-related businesses in Cebu recover.

Foreign tourists entering Cebu are required to present their vaccination cards upon entry with quick response (QR) codes that may pass validation through the database in the country of origin Garcia added.

She also said that a new memorandum will be released with the new protocols of incoming foreign tourists in line with the IATF guidelines. (ASC)
