STS Odette Enters PAR, Signal 1 in VisMin

Signal number 1 was issued in affected areas in Visayas and Mindanao as Severe Tropical Storm Odette (STS Odette) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of December 15.

According to PAGASA, STS Odette has slightly intensified and is nearing the typhoon category.

As of 4:00 AM, STS Odette was last spotted at 735 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur moving West Northwestward at 25 km/h.

STS Odette has maximum sustained winds of 110 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 135 km/h, and a central pressure of 980 hPa with strong winds or higher extending outwards up to 330 km from the center.
