PAGASA Monitoring LPA Near Eastern Samar

Cloudy skies and rain in the Eastern Visayas region are likely to be caused by a low pressure area (LPA) that state weather bureau PAGASA is currently monitoring.

PAGASA in a 24-hour public weather forecast issued Thursday said that the LPA was last seen 675 km east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar, and is embedded along the intertropical convergence zone affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Provinces in the Visayas region are advised to take precautionary measures due to scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Furthermore, flash floods and landslide during moderate to heavy rains at times is possible, PAGASA said.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon continues to be affected by the northeast monsoon. (GFB)
