More Teachers in R7 Got COVID-19 Vax

More teachers and non-teaching personnel received their COVID-19 vaccines jabs in Region 7.

Department of Education 7 (DepEd 7) director Salustiano Jimenez said in an interview with PNA that almost 40% of the teaching and non-teaching have already received their COVID-19 vaccines at the vaccination sites provided by their LGUs.

Jimenez also said that even though vaccinating against COVID-19 is not compulsory for teachers and non-teaching personnel, he lauded them for taking the vaccines voluntarily.

DepEd 7 has around 82,000 teaching personnel and 78,000 non-teaching personnel in the different schools in region 7.

Moreover, DepEd 7 also supports the government plan to vaccinate the younger population ages 12 to 17 against the COVID-19 virus — this will protect the younger population against COVID-19 and hopefully reopen schools in the future. (ASC)
