GCQ for Cebu City But “Oplan Puyo” Remains
Cebu City will continue “Oplan Puyo” despite the city being under General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
Cebu City Acting Mayor Michael Rama said that despite the shift to GCQ, stakeholders recommend a gradual transition to avoid another spike in COVID-19 cases in the city.
Rama also said that the presence of uniformed personnel, barangay peacemakers, and force multipliers help deter people from going outside their homes for non-essential matters.
Moreover, the city will continue to implement the 10 pm to 4 am curfew.
As of September 9, Cebu City’s current active cases are 3,342. The city also logged 106 new cases of COVID-19 (39,068 total COVID-19 cases), 157 new recoveries ( 34,508 total recovered), and two new deaths due to COVID-19 (1,218 total deaths). (ASC)
