PH Logs Highest Single-Day New COVID-19 Case
Today, August 28, the country has 19,441 new COVID-19 cases, the highest tallied COVID-19 case in one day for the country, bringing the total to 1,935,700.
According to the DOH COVID-19 bulletin # 532, the country also logged 19,191 new recoveries (1,760,013 total recoveries), and 167 new deaths (total deaths 33,008).
The 19,441 COVID-19 cases logged today increase the number of active COVID-19 cases in the country to 142,679.
The Department of Health (DOH) has expected the daily cases to rise in the upcoming days due to the new COVID-19 variants.
“We expect that the number of cases will continue to increase in the coming days,” DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said,
This new record beat the previous highest single-day record last August 23 with 18,332 new COVID-19 cases in one day. (ASC)
