Cebu Major Cities Remain Under MECQ
Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, and Mandaue City remain under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) until September 7, 2021.
The new quarantine classifications were announced in a press briefing on August 28, 2021.
As of August 27, there are 4,600 active cases in Cebu City, 1,402 in Lapu-Lapu City, and 2,041 in Mandaue City.
Meanwhile, Cebu Province will remain under General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
As for the towns and cities in Cebu Province that were placed under MECQ last August 11, Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia is yet to announce their new quarantine classification as of writing.
The cities placed under MECQ by the Cebu Provincial government were Samboan, Sibonga, Argao, Cordova, Oslob, Liloan, Consolacion, Minglanilla, San Fernando, and the cities of Talisay, Carcar, and Naga. (ASC)
