DOH Eyes House-to-House Vaccination
The Department of Health (DOH) announced that they are looking into house-to-house vaccinations to reduce crowds in vaccination centers.
Maria Rosario Vergeire, DOH Undersecretary, said this is a good idea, especially that there is a looming Delta variant of COVID-19 in the country.
She also added that local governments units (LGUs) that have the capabilities to do house-to-house vaccination may already proceed.
Even though stricter community quarantines are implemented, the vaccination efforts will continue in the country.
A locality needs to reach 70% of the population to gain herd immunity.
No community transmission yet
With about 200 new cases of the Delta variant were detected in the country, DOH can not verify if there is a community transmission happening already.
Vergeire added that they are still collecting more evidence before declaring a community transmission of the Delta variant. (ASC)
