The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has given safety seal certificates to 14 firms in Lapu-Lapu City.

Most companies that were awarded the safety seal certificate were registered Philippine Economic Zone Authority-Mactan Economic Zone (PEZA-MEZ).

Six were from MEZ 1, namely Feeder Apparel Corp., Feeder Apparel Corp.- FIT (Printing), On Semiconductor Cebu Philippines Inc., Mactan Apparels Inc., Metro Wear Inc., and TMX Philippines Inc.

Four were from MEZ 2, particularly Delfingen PH-Filipinas Inc., Lear Philippines Engineering Branch, and Matluster Corp.

And others including Cebu Light Industrial Park (CLIP): Duck-Il Korea Inc., Global Wear Manufacturing Inc., Teradyne Philippines Ltd., and Vertex One Apparel Philippines Inc.

According to DOLE 7 Director Salome Siaton, PEZA in Mactan is the first economic zone in the country to be awarded a safety seal certificate.

A safety seal certificate is awarded to companies or businesses that are compliant with the standard health protocols and adopted a digital contact tracing application to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Earlier this June, other Cebu companies have also received their safety seals, namely the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway project by Cebu Link Joint Venture; The Marketplace, Robinsons Galleria Cebu, Brunos Barbers (DTI); and Bai Hotel.

DOLE also urges businesses to apply for the safety seal certificate. They can apply online through https://reports.dole.gov.ph or visit the DOLE 7 regional office. (ASC)
