Cebu Pacific flights to Japan on March 18-April 18 Cancelled

Cebu Pacific has temporarily cancelled all flights between Manila and Japan for one month from March 18 until April 18 as the carrier announces cancellation of all flights between Manila, Narita, and Nagoya.

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) limited inbound international passengers at 1,500 for the said period as the Civil Aeronautics Board issued a directive that set NAIA inbound international passengers limit at 1,500 daily for March 18 to April 18.

Prior to the directive, NAIA was allowing 3,000 daily international inbound passengers.

According to CEB spokesperson Michelle Lim via the Philippine News Agency, flights from and to Dubai, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Singapore will be left for the period set.

Passengers affected with the sudden cancellations are advised to have their tickets rebooked for travel within 90 days, opt to store the ticket value in a virtual wallet which will be valid for a two-year period, or have their tickets refunded, though the process for refunds may take up to seven months, according to the carrier, due to a heavy volume of requests due to the pandemic.

Other airlines such as Philippine Airlines are also expected to announce flight cancellations for March 18 to April 18. Meanwhile, AirAsia Philippines does not have commercial international flights as of the moment. (GFB)
