Cebu City Police to Ensure Health And Safety Protocols During Holy Week
The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) is on heightened alert as the holy week of 2021 fast approaches. Aside from ensuring the public’s safety against all kinds of criminals, they will also make sure that proper health and safety protocols are observed.
This year’s holy week celebration will be different from previous celebrations since physical activities are still prohibited to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.
CCCPO Deputy Chief for Operations Lt. Col. Wilbert Parilla revealed that they will deploy more police units to aid the Cebu City Environmental and Sanitation Team and the Market Administration’s Office at the Carbon Public Market since many market-goers will surely flock to buy ingredients for “binignit”.
Last year, health and safety protocols were ignored by the market goers, even making rounds in social media–gathering negative comments from the netizens.
Parilla however, said that a more detailed security plan has been already plotted to prevent last year’s event from happening again.
Identification cards (IDs) and quararantine passes will no longer be needed to enter the market. Three entry and three exit points will be made to avoid overcrowding. (MLC)
