Gabby Lopez Resigns as ABS-CBN’s Chairman
Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III tendered his resignation as Chairman Emeritus and Director of ABS-CBN Corp effective immediately on Thursday, September 24, 2020.
In a statement released by ABS-CBN, Lopez has resigned from his positions in ABS-CBN due to personal reasons.
“Mr. Eugenio ‘Gabby’ Lopez III, today tendered his resignation for personal reasons as Chairman Emeritus and Director of ABS-CBN Corporation. Mr. Lopez also tendered his resignation as director of ABS-CBN Holdings Corporation, Sky Vision Corporation, Sky Cable Corporation, First Philippine Holdings Corporation, First Gen Corporation, and Rockwell Land Corporation effective immediately,” said in a statement by ABS-CBN.
Lopez thanked the stockholders as well as his co-directors for the trust they gave him over the years he served the company.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN’s board of directors has elected Mario Luza Bautista to replace Lopez as director of the company.
Bautista has served as Board of Advisors of the Company since 2011. He is a Founding Partner of the Poblador Bautista and Reyes Law Office and has been its Managing Partner since 1999. (ASC)
