Essential Workers From Cebu Province Can Still Go Back Home

Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia said that essential workers who are residing in Cebu Province can still go back to their homes even if they are working in Cebu City.

This comes as the entirety of the Cebu Province except for Talisay City has been placed under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) while Cebu City has been placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) from June 16 – June 30, 2020 due to its rising COVID-19 cases.

Essential workers, however, must only present their IDs and Certificate of Employment at checkpoints.

“Dili mani mahimo nga mag sige na lag sira di napod maka trabaho,” Garcia said.

Meanwhile, Garcia also said that she urged all mayors in Cebu province to issue an executive order in which it shall encourage all essential and non-essential workers to do home remedies especially “tuob” or steam therapy.

“They should issue an EO before they (workers) leave for work mag tuob, pag balik nila tuob napod sila and maintain a healthy lifestyle,” Garcia said.

All the city and municipal mayors agreed to open their borders. (MLC)
