“Waitlisted” SAP Beneficiaries to Receive Payout

Published

on

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) prepares the payout of 5 million families tagged as “waitlisted” for the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).

DSWD targeted 8.5 million low-income families living in ECQ areas for the second tranche of the SAP implementation. The said 5 million additional families were approved by President Duterte for the inclusion of the program.

LGUs however are constantly reminded to closely assess and to only distribute the aid to low-income and qualified families only.

The master list for the said program must be submitted by the Local Government Units (LGUs) to the DSWD including the certification signed by the municipality/city/provincial social welfare development officer and local chief executive.

The content of the documents must also prove that the said families are qualified to receive aid.

Once the master list has been submitted to the DSWD field office, it will be forwarded to the regional office where a cross-matching of the names will be conducted along with the beneficiaries’ available database. This is to ensure that no family will receive aid the second time around.

Once everything is settled, all documents will be forwarded to the DSWD central office for final assessment prior to the distribution. (MLC)
