IATF Meets with DOH to Discuss COVID-19

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) discussed certain circumstances with the Department of Health (DOH) regarding the continuing epidemic threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Recently, through the approval of IATF, Filipinos are now allowed to travel to South Korea except the whole province of North Gyeonsang, Daegu City and Cheongdo County where it was considered to be the epicenter of the virus in the country.

South Korea has now more than 5,000 cases, second to mainland China with more than 80,000 cases up to date.

However, Filipinos who intend to visit other parts of South Korea will have to sign a declaration that they fully understand the risk of their trip.

IATF agreed that there are still no new travel restrictions or lifting of the same. Travel restrictions and protocols are regularly being conducted by IATF.

Meanwhile, 148 Filipinos from Macau are to be repatriated by the Department of Foreign Affairs via chartered flight while the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration is arranging to repatriate 48 of its active members there from via one (1) commercial flight.

IATF along with different concerned agencies is on the top of the situation to protect the safety and health of every Filipino. (MLC)
