JoyRide to Ply Metro Cebu Soon

Motorcycle taxi-hailing company JoyRide will soon traverse the streets of Metro Cebu.

“We are here to make the special announcement that JoyRide will now enter the Metro Cebu market,” said Noli Eala, JoyRide Ph Vice President for corporate affairs.

JoyRide is currently operating in Metro Manila.

With the existence of current competitors, JoyRide guaranteed to be the safest, cheapest and most convenient way of transportation especially in the sprawling city of Cebu. The company will deploy as much as 3,000-4,500 initial riders in the Metro Cebu area.

“We are very happy to announce that as part of the pilot implementation of the Department of Transportation -Technical Working Group (DoTr-TWG), JoyRide is 1 of 3 operators that has been chosen by the TWG to participate in the motorcycle taxi pilot run,” Eala added.

JoyRide features a safety belt attached to their riders so that passengers have something to hold while traveling. Users of JoyRide also don’t have to worry about their rate as JoyRide guaranteed to be passenger friendly.

“Fixed lahat ng rates namin, walang mga surge sa prices kaya kita na agad ng mga pasahero kung magkano yung babayaran nila,” said Eala.

Meanwhile, the congress is still on the process of making motorcycle taxis legal in the country. The TWG study is from June 23, 2019 – March 23, 2020. Motorcycle taxi companies, including JoyRide itself also awaits the verdict.

Meanwhile, aside from providing convenient and faster transportation to commuters, JoyRide also aims to help illegitimate riders also known as “habal-habal” drivers.

“Eto yung opportunity din ng mga habal habal drivers, we would like to invite them na mag training sa JoyRide, eto yung opportunity na sila maging legitimate, maging legal,” said Edwin Rodriguez, JoyRide’s Business Development Officer. (MLC)
