LTO-7 Launches “Free Ride Pamasko 2019”
The Land Transportation Office in Central Visayas (LTO)-7 offered free bus rides through the “LTO Malasakit Free Ride Pamasko 2019” on its 2nd year last Friday and Saturday, December 20 and 21.
The main goal of the program is to provide a more comfortable and hassle-free trip to people.
“Right now ang nakita nato is ensuring nga maka uli lang gyud sila sa ilahang mga tagsa tagsa nga destinasyon (Right now, our only concern is that people can go home to their respective destinations), ” said Vic Caindec, Regional Director of LTO-7.
The free ride had 2 routes, the south and the north routes.
For the southern route, buses from SMB Tourist Transport traversed the LTO-7 Office-Star Mall Talisay Route with designated stops in Mambaling Elementary School, Basak Elementary School, Pardo Church and Bulacao SDA.
Another set of bus traversed the LTO-7 Office-City of Naga route with designated stops in Star Mall Talisay and Gaisano Minglanilla.
Meanwhile, for the northern route, Ceres Liner and Catalina Car Rentals traversed the Plaza Independencia-SM Consolacion route with designated stops in Isuzu Reclamation and Pacific Mall.
All buses are air-conditioned.
The free ride started from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Passengers were also able to use the LTO-7 Malasakit lounge where it served as a terminal while they were waiting. Free coffee, bread and water were also served.
“Unique siya nga program kay libre siya, dili na hasol i-uli bitaw tapos komportable kay aircon unya maka lingkod pa gyud ka, pasalamat sad mi kay naay libreng snacks (This program is unique because it is totally free and comfortable. We also wanted to thank LTO for providing free snacks),” said Marvin, a passenger.
Meanwhile, LTO-7 extended the program to the town of Liloan from December 22-24.
Buses will depart at 6 p.m. at the Isuzu Reclamation to take the passengers to the Liloan Municipal Hall. (MLC)
