“Prevention is More Important Than Cure” — Bong Go

After President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the ban of vaping in public places on November 19, 2019, Senator Bong Go expressed his support to the President.

“I support the president, for me prevention is more important than cure,” Go said.

The issue on e-cigarettes gained different reactions on social media especially to those vapers and vape shop owners.

Senator Go said that many Filipinos don’t like to inhale any kind of smoke.

“Kung kaya nato mapugngan karon, kung kaya nato dili makadamay sa ating mga katabi, mas maraming Pilipino ang ayaw maka amoy ng usok (If we can prevent it now, if we can do anything to provide welfare to our fellow Filipino people we should do it now. There are still many Filipinos don’t want to inhale any kind of smoke),” Go said.

Senator Go expressed his concern to the public especially to children.

“Proteksyonan natin ang mga Pilipino na nasa tabi natin especially yung mga bata (Let us protect the health of every Filipino, especially children),” Go added.

Senator Go, who is the Chairman on Committee on Health, promised to coordinate with stakeholders who are affected by the said issue on e-cigarettes.

“As chair of the Committee on Health, I will listen to all the affected stakeholders. As long as it is regulated and approved by the Food and Drug Administration,” Go said. (MLC)
