Naga City Strengthens Sports Development

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of the City of Naga collaborated with different sports trainers to implement the comprehensive and integrated sports development program in the city.

The said program was called “Paugnat Sa Kusog, Nagahanong Baskog”. The program technically is a partnership between the LGU of the city of Naga and the Department of Education (DepEd) to develop sports in the city.

Acting Mayor Kristine Vanessa Chiong said that the city tapped with various sports trainers and experts on different sports like basketball, volleyball, archery, arnis and boxing.

Mayor Chiong also revealed that the LGU is still planning to tap more sports trainers to equip students and athletes skills that they need to learn.

However, the mayor explained that they still need to acquire more sports equipment and transportation for students as of the moment. Transportation will be incharged to fetch and drop off students on respective training areas.

Meanwhile, the City of Naga Schools Division believes that sports can really be developed through the said program. They also pledged their part to contribute. (MLC)
