Miss Consolacion 2019 Kicks Off Swimsuit Competition

The Municipality of Consolacion launched the Miss Consolacion 2019 Swimsuit Competition at the Arterra Hotel and Resort in Lapu-Lapu City on September 15.

12 lovely candidates represent different barangay in the town of Consolacion.

In a press conference, Vice Mayor Teresa Alegado said that Miss Consolacion is an activity where they can show off the beauty of their citizens.

“This is the only activity that we can show off to identify our town in terms of beauty,” the Vice Mayor said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Angelica Clare Alegado, pageant chairman and daughter of the Vice Mayor revealed that this year’s Miss Consolacion is centered on Asian culture.

“This year’s Miss Consolacion will be centered more on Asian culture and it will be influenced by the different neighbors like China, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand. We wanted to know more about the culture of those neighboring countries,” Dr. Alegado said.

However, Dr. Alegado added that the pageant isn’t all about the beauty and shape of the candidates but they also wanted to develop their intellectual aspects.

“I think modesty aside, Miss Consolacion has always been not just about the physical aesthetics of our candidates. We’ve always wanted to mold their intellectual abilities,” Dr. Alegado said.

On October 13, the talent gala will take place at the SM City Consolacion.

The coronation night will be on October 26 at the Consolacion Municipal Covered Court.

Miss Consolacion stared in 1981 as “Mutya ng Consolacion” and until this very day the local government of Consolacion still shows full support on the pageant mainly to promote women empowerment.

Miss Consolacion is part of the various programs for the upcoming fiesta in honor of Sr. San Narciso on October 29. (MLC)
