New Champions Rise in Yamaha Grand Prix Cebu

The tables have turned, and the podium hosted new champions in the 3rd leg of Yamaha Grand Prix in Cebu. Continuing to give Filipino riders an opportunity to start their legacy.

This 10th season is as challenging as it is inspiring with Filipino racing icons: Masato “The Chairman” Fernando and Mckinley Kyle “The Wonderboy” Paz has been raising the bar in Asia Road Racing Championship. These two started their journey in YGP and are now carrying the Philippine flag across Asia. A privilege coveted by every Filipino racer.

Showing off the unrivalled performance of the new Sniper150, the battle between Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao regions continued in the YGP 150 Underbone Season Championship. During Race 1, Garry Caneda made the home team proud by winning the race; leaving Bornok Mangosong at second place and Jay-R Daguio at third. In race 2, category leader Robert Ryan Espiritu showed why he was leading the competition with a fist place finish. Caneda settled for second Mangosong third. Espiritu also recorded the fastest lap in this leg.

In the All-Female category, riding the MIO Sporty; Jannesse Lucero dominated the race with a wide margin between her and the other racers. Owning the second spot is one of the pioneers of female motorcycle racing, C-let Quizon. and completing the trio was Jen Serdal Yosores who proved herself worthy of inclusion.

The Dealer Cup Race continued the battle between MotorAce, FMN Industrial, Rhean Marketing, LYR Motorhub and DES Marketing. In this category, their riders are determined to win the title with the record-breaking Sight115. MotorAce rider, John Emerson Inguito took 1st place, Ephraim Onahon from Rhean Marketing grabbed the 2nd spot and Garry Caneda from DES Marketing finished 3rd.

In the Sniper150 One Make Race was a close fight between the three riders. Starting off in 9th position from the first lap, Eliezer Langbid masterfuly weaved through the competition and stole the lead from Brint Parinasan and Jexter Inoc. A stellar performance that granted him a hard-earned top spot.

The Yamaha Grand Prix in Cebu showed that anyone can be a champion. This is a battle of wit and will, where riders start their own legacy and become the next Filipino racing icon.
