KWF Urges Public to Join Filipino Thesis, Dissertation Contest
The Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) urges the public to join the Gawad Julian Cruz Balmaceda competition for the best thesis and/or dissertation written in Filipino language.
KWF, the government’s language authority, came up with the award to honor the late Juan Cruz Balmaceda, one of the country’s leading Filipino language scholars, as well as to promote the use and publication of original works written in Filipino.
According to KWF, the competition is open to graduate school students (masters and doctorate degrees), except the agency’s employees and kin.
Entries for the competition must be unpublished and not mere translations of foreign work.
Such entries must be written on either the natural and social sciences, mathematics or related fields for the years 2018 and 2019.
Parties interested in submitting entries can contact KWF at telephone no. (02) 736-2519 or visit its website regarding other details of the competition.
The competition’s winner will receive a PHP100,000 prize and plaque of recognition.
Deadline for the submission of entries is on October 11, 2019. (AMB/PIA Pangasinan)
