Talisay City Performing Arts Group to Change Its Name After The Late Teban Daan

A week after the radio icon, former provincial board member and Talisay City Councilor Julian “Noy Teban” Daan passed away, the City Council passed a resolution changing the name of Talisay City Performing Arts Group into Julian Daan Performing Arts Group.

It was discussed and passed on August 28 during a special council session.

Vice Mayor Alan Bucao described Daan as a “silent type” man but the moment he speaks up, everyone listens and considers his opinion.

Last August 21, Daan, at the age of 74 passed away in a private hospital due to certain medical condition.

Daan, who rose to fame in 1970s hosted various comedy programs like “Ang Manok ni San Pedro”, “Talpolano the Boxer”, “Milyonaryong Mini”, “Goat the Wonderful” and “Kung ako ang Pasultihon”.

Aside from being a radio personality, Daan was also an actor, director, writer and a stage performer with his long time partner Alan “Goliat” Nacorda.

Daan will be laid to rest on August 30 at a cemetery in Barangay Cansojong.

Meanwhile, the local government of Talisay City organized the “Tabo sa City Hall” in celebration of the Farmers and Fisher folks day.

Starting August 28 until August 30, farmers and fishermen are given the opportunity to sell their products at the city hall ground.

For interested buyers, you may visit the City Hall to buy fresh vegetables and fish from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. (MLC)
