Talisay Vice Mayor Elected as VMLP President
Talisay City Vice Mayor Alan Bucao was elected as the President of the Vice Mayor’s League of the Philippines (VMLP) Cebu Chapter during their officers’ election on August 13 at the Bai Hotel in Mandaue City.
Bucao along with other vice mayors from different cities and municipalities in Cebu gathered to elect their new officials.
Bucao said that it is a big challenge to be the president of the said league but the effort is worth it.
“Our biggest responsibility here is to share our knowledge with other vice mayors for them to be fully equipped technically,” Bucao said.
Bucao also explained that aside from sharing of knowledge and ideas, attendance in certain seminars and conferences hosted by the National Government is a must.
Bucao also guaranteed to do his best to unite all vice mayors in Cebu province primarily to reach their goals.
“Mangita ta ug paagi nga ma grupo nato tanang vice mayors within sa akong jurisdiction sa probinsya para nga ma united, mas sayon nato ma kab-ot ang goals sa atong organization (We will look for a way to unite all vice mayors within my jurisdiction in the province for us to reach our goals easier),” Bucao said.
Out of 53 vice mayors in the province, only 3 were not able to attend the election since their respective council session fell onto that day.
Bucao succeeded former VMLP Cebu Chapter President Aurelio Damole of Consolacion.
Bucao’s Vice President is Vice Mayor Teresa Alegado of Consolacion. (MLC)
