Talisay City to Focus on Dengue; Strengthens Anti-Dengue Task Force

After the National Office of the Department of Health (DOH) declared National Dengue Alert, the city of Talisay in Cebu focused on plans and campaigns against dengue.

The city also strengthened their Anti-Dengue Task Force.

Certain strategies include Search and Destroy, Self Protection Measures, Seek Early Consultation and Support Fogging and Spraying.

These strategies are guidelines on how to effectively counter dengue based on the City Health Office (CHO) of Talisay City.

The CHO said that they were alarmed when the case of dengue in the city increased by this year.

Last year, the CHO recorded only 145 cases compared to 236 this year.

Doctor Lino Alanzado, the city health officer of Talisay City said that the biggest contributor of dengue are people who don’t dispose their garbage properly.

Meanwhile, the CHO called out every Talisaynon to help contribute on the campaign against dengue. (MLC)
