Discipline Zone Implements in 2 Towns

The southern city of Talisay and municipality of Minglanilla have implemented the “Discipline Zone” where the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) will clear out vehicles that are illegally parked on national roads.

CCPO Chief Col. Roderick Mariano said that all towns are subjected to clearing operations but they will prioritize Talisay and Minglanilla.

This move strongly supports President Rodrigo Duterte’s mandate to all concerned agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs) to clear out vehicles and even establishments that obstructs national roads or highways to avoid heavy traffic congestion.

Meanwhile, the Land Transportation in Central Visayas (LTO)-7 will automatically tow illegally parked vehicles on national roads or in any no parking zone in the province.

LTO-7 Regional Director Vic Caindec said that their agency will partner up with a particular towing company to get the job done.

LTO-7 will also gain access on all traffic violations province wide through the Integrated Law Enforcement System. (MLC)
