CCCI and Rotary Club Collaborate for Bloodletting
The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), the District 3869 Rotary International and Rotary Club of Mandaue East collaborated to organize a bloodletting activity yesterday, July 28, at the 4th floor of Robinson’s Galleria Cebu.
The day long activity dubbed as “2019 Bloodletting Activity: Safe Blood For All” strongly supports the blood donation campaign of the Philippine Red Cross.
People from the business community, government agencies, walk-in clients and other volunteers participated on the said activity.
“First time ni nako, gusto ko mu donate para makatabang sad ko sa kinsa tong nanginanglan (This is my first time to donate blood and I am doing this to help those people in need)”, Albert Pilano, a donor said.
Meanwhile, CCCI President Nonoy Espeleta said that an individual’s competitiveness can be shown through these kind of activities.
“We talk about competitiveness on human nature,” Espeleta said.
Participating hosts aims to secure 250-300 bags of blood.
Qualified donors can be anybody who is in good health between 18 to 59 years old and weighs at least 115 lbs. or 53 kgs can donate. They must not be anemic and should have a normal blood pressure range of between 90 – 140 mmHg (systolic) and between 60 – 100 mmHg (diastolic), and pulse rate of 50-100 beats per minute.
Blood donors aged 16 and 17 must secure a parental consent to be admitted to participate. (MLC)
