DOH-7 Conducts Close Monitoring on Dengue
The Department of Health in Central Visayas (DOH)-7 conducted a close monitoring in the whole province of Cebu and Region 7 against dengue.
The national office of DOH recently declared National Dengue Alert due to the rapid increase of dengue cases.
Part of DOH-7’s program against dengue is the deployment of dengue task force.
Head of the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU)-7 Dr. Shelbay Blanco said that barangay who recently have dengue cases for the past three weeks should be prioritized.
In Cebu City, barangay Mambaling, Kamputhaw, Lahug, Apas, Bacayan, Guadalupe, Pit-os, Basak San Nicolas and Bonbon are being closely monitored by DOH-7.
Meanwhile in Mandaue City, the local government is now conducting cleanups in barangay and certain areas where mosquitoes are most likely to flock.
The local government of Mandaue City and DOH-7 is still hoping that School and Barangay Brigade will be implemented again.
Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes called out every citizen to participate in any kind of campaign against dengue.
Meanwhile, DOH-7 also reminded all Local Government Units (LGUs) in the whole province to monitor their respective areas to perform quick response programs against dengue. (MLC)
