NV Hospital Gets Level 3 Upgrade
The Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center (R2TMC) here was recently upgraded into a level 3 hospital, the highest classification of general hospitals in terms of their functional capacity based on the Department of Health’s (DOH) Administrative Order No. 2012-0012.
According to Dr. Napoleon Obaña, R2TMC cheif, the medical hospital upgrade for R2TMC was issued by the Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau (HFSRB).
He said its License To Operate (LTO) was issued in Novembe last year and valid from January 1 to December 31, 2019.
Obaña said the hospital upgrade came after an assessment conducted by the HFSRB on R2TMC’s compliance to the criteria by the DOH for level 3 health care institutions.
“The establishment of our Dialysis Unit and Physical Rehabilitation Unit which provides high level specialty interventions helped a lot in the approval of our hospital upgrade application,” he added.
The assessment involved the measurement of the degree of compliance of the hospital to the DOH standards, inputs of patients and hospital staff members, site inspections and document review.
“These were used to validate the findings with the use of an assessment tool,” the mdical chief said. (ALM/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
