Mayor Labella to Lead The Cleaning and Restoration of Rivers

Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella is now preparing to clean and restore different rivers and creeks in the City.

Target areas to be cleaned and restored are Bulacao River, Guadalupe River, Mahiga Creek, Parian Creek and Tejero Creek.

Members of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), Department of Engineering and Public Works, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Public Services will meet Mayor Labella this afternoon to discuss the flow of the activity on how to make it effective.

However, Mayor Labella explained that there is still no specific date on when this activity will take place since they need to finalize everything but Labella said that it’s most likely will be during weekends so majority of the people can participate.

Mayor Labella himself will lead the cleaning of rivers and creeks.

All employees of the Cebu City Hall and different barangay will take part of the activity.

Members of the Philippine Army pledged also their participation.

Meanwhile, the Local Government of Cebu City called out all volunteers to list themselves up. (MLC)
