3 New Malasakit Centers Open in Visayas
Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go along with Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (PAV) Secretary Michael Dino launched the new Malasakit Center in Siquijor Provincial Hospital on July 4 this year.
Senator Go and PAV Dino handed over a P5 million check as Malasakit fund.
Malasakit fund is a monthly funding from the Office of the President given to all Malasakit Centers.
The new Malasakit Center in Siquijor marks the 11th Malasakit Center in Visayas.
The next day, July 5, Senator Go and PAV Dino flew to Ormoc City to also formally launch and open the Malasakit Center in Ormoc District Hospital in the Province of Leyte.
Another Malasakit Center was launched in Eastern Samar Provincial Hospital in Borongan City making it the 3rd Malasakit Center in the Island of Samar.
The first ever Malasakit Center started at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) in Cebu City on February 2018.
Malasakit Center is a one-stop shop intended for indigent patients to get financial and medical assistance for them to acquire quality health care service.
President Rodirgo Duterte assigned the implementation of the Malasakit Center throughout the country to PAV Dino.
Currently, there are 37 Malasakit Centers nationwide. (MLC)
