Cleanest School and Barangay in Talisay City to be Awarded; Clean and Green Program Strenghtened
The moment Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas assumed office last week, one of his top priority is the cleanliness of the city.
Recently, a program under the City Agriculture stated that the cleanest School and Barangay (Village) will be given a special award and prize by the City Government.
However, the city will still have to finalize the guidelines of the said program as of the moment.
“Hopefully, kung maklaro na atong mga guidelines muhatag natag mga awards to schools and barangay nga limpyo (Hopefully, if we can finalize all the guidelines needed, we can start giving awards to schools and barangay that are maintaining its cleanliness),” Mayor Gullas said.
Mayor Gullas recently distributed different gardening materials to different schools to start the “clean and green” program on their respective area.
Gullas believed that by giving them awards and prizes, this will value their service and make them strengthen their campaign on the cleanliness of the city.
The City Government of Talisay already have selected teachers and other school staff to be given proper training on how to execute the clean and green program.
Meanwhile, Rene Galado, head of the City Agriculture of Talisay said that every school must start to promote planting again since it is one way of preserving the environment.
The City Government also distributed different seeds like vegetable, fruit and ornamental plant seeds to different schools and barangay to start their own “clean and green” program. (MLC)
