PLDT Joins PBSP Reforestation Caravan

PLDT, Inc. recently participated in the 28th Annual Reforestation Caravan kick-off event organized by the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) at Barangay Buhisan in Cebu City.

Every year, PLDT strives to make the Earth greener through its various environmental efforts. They have been in partnership with PBSP since 2003 in rehabilitating the Central Cebu Protected Landscape, or Cebu Hillylands.

The company funded the tree planting activity through PBSP’s Adopt-a-Hectare program in the Buhisan Watershed and Forest Reserve, which includes the hauling of seeds, hole digging, strip bushing, replanting, delineation and a two-year maintenance by partner communities in the area.

The team planted 2,500 native tree seedlings like narra, Arabian coffee, caimito, molave.
