Taekwondo Athletes Bring Honor to Cebu
At least Seven (7) Cebuano Taekwondo athletes bring honor to this Queen City of the South by getting medals and recognition in the 7th Asian Junior Taekwondo Championship held in Jakarta, Indonesia last June 20 to 23, 2013.
The group together with their coaches Avenger Alob and Glenn Lava and the Philippine Taekwondo National Chairman Tony Del Prado visited Cebu City hall last July 17, 2013 for a Courtesy Call with Re-elected Cebu City Mayor Michael Lopez Rama. They presented to Mayor Rama their achievements,recognition and medals during their visit.
Chairman Del Prado introduced the 7 Cebuano Taekwondo athletes one-by-one and their awards. This includes, Moses Bullicer, Miguel Anthony Camlamba, and Mary Nichole Maurin all got the Silver Medal; Maegan Bugarin who bagged 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medal; Rinna Babanto with 1 Gold and 1 Bronze; Mc Aveyngyr Alob with 1 Bronze and 1 Gold; and Mikeala “Kokoy” Calamba with gold and silver and as the World Taekwondo Freestyle Poomsae Champion last Dec. 6 to 9, 2012 in Tunja, Colombia.
Mayor Rama formally welcomed and congratulated the athletes and their coaches for a job well done and encouraged them to be always mindful on the ‘Two greatest Commandments’, the Golden rule, and to have good manners and right conduct.
