The Cebu Provincial Government is now getting ready for the upcoming overseas job fair on June 23, Sunday, to be held in Cebu Provincial Capitol Social Hall.

This is the 2nd overseas job fair this year since the first job fair was held on January 27, 2019.

Cebu Provincial Labor and Employment Officer Julius Chua, said that they invited over 44 licensed recruitment agencies to join the job fair but there are currently 6 out of 44 agencies confirmed to join as of the moment due to requirement purposes.

“Nanginvite tag mga 44 ka licensed recruitment agencies but so far mga 6 pay ni confirm kay tungod sa ilang requirements (We invited 44 licensed recruitment agencies but so far atleast 6 already confirmed due to their requirements),” Chua said.

However, Chua also said that by the end of the month they are expecting that the number of agencies that will confirm will increase since the deadline is on June 7, Friday.

Chua pointed out that only agencies who confirmed on or before the deadline will have the opportunity to join the job fair.

Some of the requirements mentioned by Chua was certificate of clearance from the Department of Labor and Employment(DOLE), job order and license of the participating recruitment agencies.

The overseas job fair will also be a one stop shop for job seekers since the Provincial Employment Services Office (PESO) invited national agencies to participate.

Chua said that they invited the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth and other national government agencies for the job seekers to acquire their requirements on the spot.

Chua reminded all the jobseekers to register ahead of time to avoid hassle and inconvenience during the actual job fair on June 23.

“Mas advantage gyud nga mu register daan para igka 23 detso na sila sa taas, di na sila malangan pa (It is more convenient to register ahead to avoid the hassle of long lines and long waiting times),” Chua said.

The registration for the overseas job fair started on May 2, right after the local job fair during the labor day celebration.

Applicants who wish to register may go directly to the PESO located in the Cebu Provincial Capitol. (MLC)
