PNP Official Holds Roving Inspection in Cebu City
Allegations of violent crimes in conflict-hit barangays led a top police official here to conduct a roving inspection in identified areas.
Police Brigadier General Dennis A. Siervo, Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Human Rights Affairs Office, on April 26 inspected barangays Suba, Sawang Calero, and Pasil, which were tagged in media reports to have violent crimes, being the “dreaded and drug-infested communities” in Cebu City.
Siervo was accompanied by Police Col. Royina Garma and personnel of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) in assessing and evaluating the peace and order situation in said areas.
During the inspection, Siervo noted that contrary to media reports, normalcy in said barangays as well as peace and order situation are already restored.
According to the netizens, it was also the first time that a star-ranked officer in full uniform walked down the streets and alleys of the said barangays of Cebu City. (PR from PNP Human Rights Affairs Office)
