Poblacion Talisay To Be a Tourist Spot

Talisay City, Cebu is known for it’s popular beaches and mouthwatering “lechon”(roasted pig).

Cebu First District Congressman Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas, aims to make Poblacion Talisay a one of a kind tourist destination.

“Sa una, balikon sa mga tawo kada weekend ang Barangay Poblacion, kadtong wala pay bridge ang Mactan. Laaganan ni sa mga pamilya, hilabi na sa mga taga Cebu (City), moari sa Talisay aron makakaon og lechon,” Gullas said. (Before, people come here every weekend when Mactan had no bridge yet. People from Cebu City come here to have fun and eat lechon.)

Gullas said that he would like to develop the park in Barangay Poblacion and build more facilities to draw the tourists’ attention.

“Ngano dili man pwede ang mga tourists moagi sa Talisay sa dili pa moadto sa Oslob, or anywhere sa south,” he added. (Why can’t tourist stop by in Talisay before going to Oslob or anywhere in the south.)

Gullas also said that he would really love to bring back people to realize how delicious the lechon in Talisay is.

Talisay is famous for its crispy and flavorsome lechon.

Way back 2005, Talisay City celebrated their very first lechon festival but they were not able to carry out the activity.

Gullas explained that he really wanted to revive and develop the festival. (MLC)
