Mandaue, Talisay to Forge Sisterhood
To strengthen their relationship, the cities of Mandaue and Talisay are soon to establish a sisterhood agreement very soon.
In their recent meeting, Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes and Talisay City Mayor Johnny Delos Reyes agreed in principle to tie as sister cities, saying that both cities could bring help to each other especially during calamities.
Delos Reyes met with Cortes to talk about some issues haunting his administration like the public market, and to ask for his advice. He admitted that as a newbie, and Cortes being on his third term, it is just right that he initiates the first step to ask for help from the executive chief of Mandaue. For his part, Cortes welcome Delos Reyes’ move and even went to the point of inviting Talisay to become Mandaue’s sister city.
“Samtang duna ta’y sisterhood agreement sa ubang mga dakbayan sa laing mga probinsya, importante lang usab kaayo nga sa atong silingan nga dakbayan maayo ang atong relasyon,” Cortes said.
