5 Essential Tips to Stop Breakouts

Published

on

Our skin can be unpredictable most of the time. One day it seems clear and the next day you may notice an unpleasant pimple on your forehead or jawline. While pimples and acne are mainly caused because of hormonal changes, there are times when you may find an unexpected breakout because of some of your daily habits. So, remember these basic tips if you want to avoid breakouts in the future.

Drink a lot of water
Many of us drink water only after eating or occasionally to quench our thirst. But one should ideally keep drinking water all through the day even if you’re not thirsty. Water acts as a cleanser in the body. Pimples and acne begin on the inside and then make their way to the upper layer of the skin. Drinking a lot of water is a good way to keep the skin clean and hydrated.

Stop touching your face
Every time you touch your face, the bacteria from your hands gets transferred to your face. This is why pores get clogged and pimples appear. Sometimes you fidget with your face and don’t even realize it but this may be the real culprit for those pesky breakouts.

Wash your face regularly
Washing your face with a good facial cleanser at least twice a day is a must. This helps clear up the dead skin cells or leftover oil on the face, which could be the reason for a breakout. Pimple or no pimple, remember to wash your face before bedtime.

Clean your eyeglasses regularly
When you wear eyeglasses, the oil from your face gets transferred to your glasses. If you don’t clean them regularly, this oil which remains on the glasses will get transferred back to the face. This is the reason why pimples form around the eye and nose area.

Stop eating junk food and sugary treats
Most of us think this is a myth but try avoiding junk foods-candies intake and notice the difference. Substitute them with fruits and vegetables, if you really want a clear, pimple-free skin.
