Capitol Programs Meant for All, Despite Political Differences
With the promise to deliver projects and services to all local government units in the province regardless of political affiliations, Governor Hilario P. Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale extended cash incentives to barangay workers of Malabuyoc town last Tuesday.
This was gladly welcomed by Malabuyoc Mayor Narciso “Lito” Creus, an ally of the opposing One Cebu party.
“Dako kaayo kong kalipay kay wa malimti. Wa laktawi, giapil gyud, ang Malabuyoc bisan di mi kauban ni governor, ni vice governor, ug sa mga board members,” said Creus.
Davide said he and Magpale does not consider political party affiliations when it comes to extending assistance to their constituents.
“Ang among gitan-aw gyud maka serbisyo ta, kutob sa maabot sa Kapitolyo, sa mga barangay nga mangayo og hinabang, we are willing, among hatagan og financial assistance,” said Davide.
He added that some barangays in Malabuyoc have already received financial assistance from the Capitol and that they are just waiting for requests for assistance from Malabuyoc.
“Sa mga barangay nga mangayo og hinabang, we are willing nga hatagan mo og financial assistance, bisan ang lungsod, nagpaabot lang mi sa imo Mayor Lito,” the governor said.
Magpale also stressed that expressing their gratitude to all barangay workers in the province extends beyond political parties.
“Buwag lang ang atong politikanhon nga pundok pero magpabilin ang atong panaghigala,” said Magpale in her speech, who shared how pleased they were to be given the chance to personally distribute the cash incentives to the barangay workers.
“Dili kana garbo lang nga kami gyud motunol kining gamay kaayo nga gasa, higayon kini nga makig himamat kaninyo ug personal nga pasalamatan kamong tanan sa inyong nabuhat alang sa kabarangayan,” said Magpale.
Davide and Magpale extended P738,600 cash incentives to 388 Malabuyoc barangay volunteer workers that include barangay tanods, Day Care Workers (DCW), Barangay Health Workers (BHW), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), Barangay Animal Health Aide (Baha) and Lupon Tagapamayapa.
The amount is part of the P2.691 million total cash incentives the governor and vice governor distributed to a total of 1,442 barangay volunteer workers in the towns of Malabuyoc, Alegria and Badian.
In Alegria a total of 421 brgy volunteer workers received a total of P841,200 cash incentives; while in Badian, 633 tanods, DCWs, BHWs, BNS, Baha and lupons received a total of P1,111,500 cash incentives.
