LGUs to Deploy Disaster Teams for Sinulog

Security and safety officers from some local government units (LGUs) in Cebu Province will be deployed to the capital for the 2018 Fiesta Señor and Sinulog festivities starting Wednesday.

A total of 10 municipal government units have signified their intentions to send their respective local disaster teams to respond to any situation or emergency that may arise during the festivities, the Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said Tuesday.

The municipality of Liloan will deploy its local disaster officers on Wednesday, while Danao City and San Fernando will field their personnel on Thursday.

On Friday, the local disaster team from Argao will likewise be joining the team to provide additional manpower to Cebu City disaster units.

Disaster teams from the towns of Medellin, Tabogon, Barili, Sibonga, and Dumanjug and Toledo City will be fielded this weekend in time for the fluvial procession on Saturday and the grand parade on Sunday.

The PDRRMO will also deploy its personnel, medical staff, and quick-response teams to augment the emergency units fielded by host Cebu City. (Michelle Bugtai/PNA)
