Perpetual Help’s Win Nullified as CSB’s Protest for Wrong Jersey Upheld

NCAA Commissioner Arturo “Bay” Cristobal upheld the protest of CSB regarding its match against Perpetual Help.

Cristobal overturned a 69-65 victory by the Altas after coming in with the wrong set of jerseys.

Perpetual Help, which was supposed to wear its light jerseys, checked in at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City on Tuesday with its maroon kits instead.

Following a 45-minute window, the Altas were assessed with a technical foul, but the game pushed through.

The ruling was made based on Article 4.3.2.1 Section 20 of the NCAA Rulebook, which states that an athlete who does not bring the right jersey in a certain game is ineligible to play for the said game.

The reversal of the outcome gave TY Tang his first NCAA win as CSB coach.
