Kerwin Espinosa Arrives from Abu Dhabi; May Be Allowed to Attend Father’s Wake
Kerwin Espinosa, the alleged big time drug lord of Eastern Visayas, is back in the country from Abu Dhabi and now in custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Espinosa’s plane landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2, Pasay City at 3:41 a.m. on Friday.
The security was strictly implemented inside and outside of the airport up to the PNP Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
PNP chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa personally picked up Espinosa at the NAIA and was also with him inside the vehicle going to Camp Crame.
Dela Rosa said that they are considering Espinosa as the “missing piece” in the ongoing investigation into the illegal drug trade in the country.
Espinosa, wearing a bullet-proof vest and handcuff, was presented before mediamen in a press conference in Camp Crame.
Dela Rosa said he may grant the request of Espinosa to attend the wake of his father, slain Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa, Sr.
The police chief also assured Kerwin’s security in bringing him to the province, as he revealed that Kerwin’s life is in danger.
Espinosa is temporarily detained at the PNP Custodial Center. (PNA) JMC/PTR/EDS
